Corydoras Habrosus – Salt and Pepper Pygmy Cory Catfish
Peaceful Schooling Bottom-Dweller for Freshwater Aquariums

Our Corydoras habrosus, also called the Salt and Pepper Cory or Pygmy Cory Catfish, are tank-bred in the Pacific Northwest for health, adaptability, and sustainability. This small, peaceful bottom-dwelling fish is perfect for nano tanks and planted freshwater aquariums. Reaching only about 1 inch in length, they are active foragers that help keep your substrate clean.

Why Choose Our Corydoras Habrosus:

  • Locally tank-bred in the Pacific Northwest – no wild-caught stress

  • Ideal for small aquariums (10+ gallons) and community tanks

  • Safe with freshwater shrimp and other peaceful fish

  • Best kept in groups of 6 or more for natural schooling

  • Attractive “salt and pepper” speckling with a bold horizontal stripe

Care Requirements:

  • Temperature: 72–79°F (22–26°C)

  • pH Range: 6.0–7.5

  • Tank Setup: Soft sand substrate, planted areas, and open swimming space

Diet:
Provide a variety of sinking pellets, frozen or live foods (bloodworms, daphnia, baby brine shrimp), and occasional plant-based foods to ensure optimal health and coloration.

Quick Tip: Include dense plant cover alongside open sandy areas to help these fish feel secure and show their most natural behavior.
